Retaining wall replacement cost

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.21 PM

Hi, we are in an unfortunate situation where we will shortly have to share costs with a neighbours insurance company for the replacement of a failed bounday retaining wall. Wall about 2m high. The wall is between the houses (there is about 4-5m between houses) so space for plant a bit limited. About 4m length of wall slipped down but more may have to be replaced. Can someone help us and give us a rough idea of what cost /metre should be for a wall system - for comparison. We dont' have much faith in the loss adjuster to organise things cost effectively. We've been waiting for nearly 18 months for them to get organised and its causing us a lot of stress. I know its difficult but any help/advice would be appreciated. We're bristol area. Thanks.

£250m2 for it to be done properly wouldn't be a million miles away. It is hugely variable though as a lot of builders will build it in eactly the same way as a house wall and with the same materials. Google: f2 bricks. There is a surprisingly good PDF with all the requirements from brick.org called 'severley exposed brickwork', pretty sure Bristol counts as exposed. It has as much to do with salt content as it does the weather.
