Dimensions of boxed in toilet waste pipe

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.21 PM

We are getting a combined downstairs WC and utility room installed. The plan is to have a run of units with a kitchen type sink and cupboard underneath. The waste pipe from the toilet will need to run underneath the cupboard, at right angle to it, towards to the wall behind it and through it to outside. How big is a toilet waste pipe when boxed in, would it fit underneath the cupboard? I.e where the kickboard will be. I’m worried that it will be bigger than the height under the cupboard. Our alternative is just to install a standard cloakroom toilet and sink without the run of cupboards. Thanks in advance for any advice.

The soil pipe for a toilet is 110mm diameter the centre height for the toilet outlet is approximately 195mm from the floor You also need to make sure the soil pipe has a decent fall towards the drain so you may struggle to get it under a standard 150mm kitchen cupboard. There are cupboards that have a 200mm plinth which may better suited.

A waste pipe is 4inch or 100 mm but to have a waist pipe for a toilet under a cupboard is not really ideal. The pipe should go from inside to the outside into an inspection chamber.
