Ugly brick extension of a listed building options for coverage
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.46 PM
I have recently purchased a listed cottage. The main build in timber framed (black and white type) but the second half of the house is a 1970s extension built with red engendering type brick. The conservation officer is not happy for us to render the ugly brick work on the modern part of the house and has suggested that we colour wash to brick? I’m really not too sure about this, so I was wondering is we could cover which a third layer of bricks more suitable to the building, alternatively looking for other suggestions that may be acceptable to the concervation office?
