Low pressure in bath and sink taps in bathroom

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.46 PM

Is there a way to boost the hot and cold water pressure I my upstairs bathroom? Bathroom is located on 1st floor, hot water tank is on same floor n airing cupboard, cold water tank in attic is big size but pressure from both sink and bath for hot and cold water is very poor. According to a plumber who came to look recently the hot and cold pipes for the bathroom that are in the airing cupboard run at the back of the airing cupboard and seem to be shared going downstairs so they must be tee connection under floor somewhere. Seems to be I have to take out hot water tank and dig up the 2nd bedroom floor to solve this....unless there is another way?

Hello, Provided your mains cold water pressure is adequate, a long term solution could be to install an unvented hot water cylinder or a thermal store cylinder instead of your conventional cylinder. Both of these options give very good hot water flow rate and all cold water in the house would be straight from the mains and none from your current tank in the loft which would be removed. Hope this helps.

Hello Changing to an unvented system may be effective but can be costly. A more cost effective way to resolve this is to fit a pump to these hot and cold supplies. Just another option but it is down to personal choice.
