open system. constant air in updtairs radiators

Im having to bleed the upstairs rads every week. just been in loft and there are two tanks. smallest tank if for open vented rads. its very hot. its like water is coming back from boiler into rad water tank in loft. losing water as a result in rads. is that correct

your system is over pumping, this could be because the pump is set to high,bad pipework design,a build up of sludge is not allowing it to circulate properly,as it pumps over the water absorbs air and passes it around system,you need to get a heating engineer to check it out,sooner than later as it will start to sludge up and stop working.

Few problems could contribute to hot water venting into header tank in your central heating, I would check the operation of your boiler controls first but if all ok look into heating design, possible overheating or bad circulation

you could have a blockage, pipe reduction because of limescale if that's a problem in your area, and as a consequence reducing the pump speed could help ,but its best to get it fixed and treated-asap
