Hot Air Heating Ducts

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.22 PM

I'm looking to change from a warm air heating system to radiators, wondering if the existing ducts can just be left in place and plastered over? Would there be an issue with damp/ condensation? Many thanks!!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes its fine, you can put the plaster board over it however just make sure to take the metal grill off the air duct. If you have any air duct in the loft (coming through the ceiling), take them all out and cover all holes with the plaster board. Its safe to follow the above procedure and will not cause any issues with the condensation and damp.
