Hanging radiator
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.22 PM
I am trying to hang a heavy radiator approx 60kg of a dot and dab plasterboard wall and i need help regarding fixtures. The wall is made up of insulated plasterboard 30mm followed by another plasterboard and then a void of 50mm before you reach the breeze blocks.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

For this kind of situation you need a special plasterboard clips (wall pugs ) that are holding more than 25kg per one screw so in this case on the radiator have 4 that should hold enough
If is heavier that it may require one patch to be removed of the plasterboard to replace first layer of plasterboard to an strong plywood

Either PlasterBoard Fisher fixings or 100mm long screws meeting the breeze.

Hi, there are many fixings available try Screwfix, could use Anchor bolts, or Crocadile fixings,
I'd use 125mm screws to get a fix into the brick work for a solid fix, carefull though not to pull plasterboard inwards when tightening.
