Rads not coming on A.M but fine P.M??
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.00 PM
Hi. I am really struggling and unfortunately I am NOT a tradesman in anyway! I have U/Floor heating downstairs and this works fine but I have 1 rad upstairs (literally just 1 room) which is temperamental. I set my heating and hot water to come e.g: 1 hour 7- A.M and 1 hour 4- P.M I get hot water so this isn’t a problem and the rads come on In the evening BUT will not come on or heat up in the morning! Any ideas please? Thank you
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You would need to check the times set up on each channel for each programmer if there is more than one ie;
Main programmer normally next to the boiler will have a hot water channel and a central heating channel for any radiators.
Underfloor heating programmer normally located by underfloor heating manifold will need is own timing set.
If these are all set correctly and are still having no luck, check that all room thermostats are set correctly.
If that does not solve your problem it could be one of the following faults;
Underfloor heating pump seized
Underfloor heating actuator valve seized
Faulty programer or room thermostat
Airlock within the pipework
Furthermore; if the underfloor heating is, in fact, working in the evening and not in the morning would eliminate the above faults. How many programmers and room thermostats do you have fitted? normally there's a separate one for underfloor heating.
another thought would be if you do have a room thermostat for the underfloor heating and that it may have various temperatures set at different times of day as well and would need the correct temperature set for the morning.
