how close can a boiler be to a consumer unit?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.21 PM

HI, I have a cupboard in a 1960 bungalow. It's got three brick walls and door. The consumer unit is facing me and is mounted on the outside wall. I would like to have a boiler installed on the left hand side wall of the cupboard at a right angle to the consumer unit. What is the minimum distance allowed between the casing of the boiler to the casing of the consumer unit? Many thanks in advance.

Installation of low pressure gas pipework in domestic premises states that gas installation pipes must be spaced at least 150mm away from electricity meters, controls, electrical switches or sockets, distribution boards or consumer units. There should also be a separation between a supply or distribution cable of at least 25mm for domestic pipework up to 35mm or 50mm for piepwork over 35mm.
