Water in shower too hot
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.45 PM
Hi The water in my shower is simply either too hot or too cold. I have tried changing the temperature but it still does not make it any better, what would be the best thing to do?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

In my experience this almost certainly means the hot and cold pipework is connected the wrong way round.
If this is not the case I will eat my hat. 👷🏻♂️
Hope it’s a reasonably simple fix!
Kind regards

Hello, it sounds like your thermostatic cartridge is faulty and needs replacing. Or, if it is a new installation, it could be because the hot and cold pipes have been fitted the wrong way round.

Hi Nicholas here, it really depends on a few factors it can be a few things. Pressure of the water. The pump can be pushing the hot water more than the cold but really every job is different an needs to be individually inspected. To determine the cause hope this helps Nick

Hello
Looks like the pipes are connected other way around that's why your are getting either hot or cold water.

check pipework is correct way round, check filters and flush both hot and cold services to make sure they are free from floating scale old boss white etc,it may be you need a new cartridge, check your hot water source is consistent,it could be an unequal pressure problem.

does the water go from instant hot to instant cold when you adjust the control? and vice versa if it does then as already suggested the pipes have been fitted the wrong way round or the valve is faulty. good luck.
