Specific direction for flat roof run off to go?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.20 PM

I’ve had a couple of local independents come and look at my flat roof as water is pooling in the middle. One has just said that he would raise it up in the middle and help it run off down to the sides. issue with that is the gutter is only at the front so surely it should not run off down to the sides but should run forward towards the gutter? I have no idea, and just want to make sure that if we go ahead with the job the water runs in the right direction and doesn’t stream down the side of the house where there is no gutter

The sides should have angle fillet running along them to stop water from running down the side of the house , aslong as the fall the proposed roofer puts on is not at a fall that creates enough force that the water runs down hits the sides and comes over the angle fillet then it can run that way as the roof should already have a fall toward the guttering , giving it a bit rise from the back end it should solve the problem giving the water a kind of diagonal run into the gutter

if the roof is not leaking and performing as it should i would leave it alone as pooling on a flat roof is nothing to worry about, save your money

If roof not leaking pooling not a problem if it bothers you put chipping on roof or run a Harris rail down both sides and re drip to make water tight my option I would save your money
