Timber frame roof on uPVC conservatory

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.00 PM

Looking to swap existing poly roof with a timber deck and wondered if additional support world be required for the additional weight of such a roof. Conservatory is a lean to 4x3.5m and half height brick wall on the 3 sides. Should I consider support posts or is there a more descrete way to strengthen the framework? Could aluminium joists be an option, then deck and EPDM over?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Dear customer, you would need support for this type of deck. Timber posts would be the easiest way around this and if you wanted to change the look you could clad over the sides. If it’s not astetichally pleasing that is. I hope this helps with the issue at hand.
