How many bricks high for an extension to get the corrrect hight?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.21 PM

How many bricks high is a wall built normally when building an extension is it about 33 bricks high from the top/level of the foundation upwards. My extension would be 3.9 long by 3.7m wide. I can clearly see how many bricks long but can't work out how high? Thank you in advance of your reply

Assuming normal lintel height of 2.1m from dpc would be 28 courses and plate height of 2.4m would be 32 courses. hope this is helpful

Assuming single storey extension with a pitched roof under permitted development rules. You would be allowed to build up to 2.5m high at eaves from external ground level which is roughly 32 courses + fascia fixed over end of rafters.

4courses brickwork to 300mm is the gauge working up or 4 to the foot depending on the coursed work to the existing house brickwork
