Legality of Electric Oven fused to singular socket shared with Washing machine?
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.45 PM
Hello, I am in a private let and the electric oven is fused to a singular socket above the worktop. It also shares this singular switch with the washing machine. I've been advised by letting agent I can't have a washing on at the same time as the oven as it will trip. I can't actually wash clothes during the day as it's so expensive, whole house is heatedvia electric heaters. So it's like in the evening it's a toss up between cooking dinner or washing clothes. My question is, is this dangerous and does it comply with rules and regulations? A friend said it was dangerous. I asked the letting agent to change it to a double socket fuse switch and was told they couldn't do it it was too big a job. They would have to take the whole worktop off. 🙄🤔
