Substandard floor screeding
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.00 PM
We recently hired a tradesman on this site to screed the floor in our new extension. The work is unsatisfactory and we have been unable so far to get him to visit and suggest a remedial course of action, despite several polite requests. We paid good money for the work and are quite shocked that he apparently feels that he has no obligation to put it right or even apologise. What rights do we have in this matter?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi. It all depends on what isn’t right about it. Is it the mix you’re worried about? Or levels?

write to him asking him to put it right, give him a timeframe in which to do it,send letter recorded delivery ,if you get no satisfaction speak to my builder about it,get a report by another contractor then take him to small claims court.

Hi, i was just reading your question.
There is lots of things to consider before taking him to small court.
It depends how did you hired him, what's wrong with the job, do you have any e-mails with him?

Daniel
