Condensation on Windows
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.42 PM
Hello everyone, We're currently getting major condensation on 2 our of the 4 rooms in our flat. It's the two bedrooms and they now continuously seem to be dripping a lot because of it. Is this something that can be prevented by opening windows more etc or is it something that should be looked at to see what the problem is? Thanks, Ruth.

Hi, you can use a dehumidifier and you will see the difference, will clean the air and solve the humidity.

Its normally always airflow. A lot of people dont have well ventilated areas or windows. You can have vents fitted if there arent any.

Add trickle vents to your windows if you can to increase airflow

Hi, warm damp air inside a bedroom meeting cold air outside causes condensation, ventilate the room and add a damp trap in the window bottom, plus a small dehumidifier from supermarkets £10 will help.

This should never happen in a good quality building that is insulated and has a double/triple glazed PVC windows.
You can help the situation by ventilating your home more even though you will lose some heat. Plus use a dehumidifier which will of course cost you extra money.
