can the tiler use wall adhesive to render the toilet wall?

we are renovating our bathroom at moment, my husband removed all the old tiles on the wall, there were few gaps and the holes, including where the plumber installed the mixer tap and pipes on the wall. The tiler just used wall adhesive to render the whole wall, including the big hole which the mixer tap was installed in the shower. He didn't use the sand and cement. I am wondering if it is normal way to do it? And how long will last?
The second question is our tiler poured the self leveling on the toilet floor over the old tiles, after 4 days, the floor has shown few crack. what's the reason and what can we do next?
Thank you.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
I'm a tiler so hopefully can answer the question. I would of plaster bond coating all holes gaps prior to tiling the walls. On the floor I would of laid either a matting or backer board to prevent any cracking.

Holes in wall behind where the tiles are going should of had a bonding plaster filled into them. Although the adhesive should be ok it’s not necessarily the correct way to do it:

If an exterior wall, then don’t use bonding. Use hardwall to straighten the walls. If the floor has movement, it will crack. Use ditramat if going on to wood floors

should of used a real filler if it was minor holes but for whole wall should of used a bonding coat and as 4 the floor if its upstairs and laid on wooden floors which should have been played first prior to the tiles if there's movement in the tiles then the self leveller will crack cause of the movement so in that case old tiles would need to come up and check there's no movement in the play if so you will need to replace and screw down new ply board and use bal flex addesive which allows 4 little movment as its flexible to a limit
