Lintel and window cavity tray

Hi I would think you will have some form of lintel over the inside wall but it was quite common not to put one on the outside at that time If there is no sign of the wall over the lintel moving you don’t need to do anything at the moment If in the future the window was changed it might be worth doing then as it isn’t a big job Hope this helps Steve

This is standard for the 50's, my property is a 50's property and also do not have lintels above my window's. I have replaced all the windows in my neighbours property without any lintels above the windows with no problems. Having said that the house's down our road that have stayed in the council control have had plate lintels fitted to the face brickwork only. Window cavity tray's are used to take away any water that finds its way into the cavity and began i think early 80's with the use of weep holes. I hope this Helps.
