Removal of wood burning stove

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.21 PM

I have a wood burning stove that needs to be removed. The flue will then need to be sealed and the chimney capped off. Who should I get to do this? Can I resell the stove, as it is in excellent condition?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

To work on wood burning stoves you need to be HETAS approved, so look for a company with this qualification it would normally a company that just specialises in this type of work. Regarding reselling the stove that is absolutely fine.

The capping off of a controlled service should really be completed by a chimney engineer, chimney sweep or HETAS installer as all three will be able to give you advice on what they find before closing off !! A great place to sell stoves at the moment is facebook marketplace, its free and easy to use. I hope this helps. thanks Leigh
