Options on fixing a burst brick at front of house

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.45 PM

Hello! Sky did a great job installing their services at my house and successfully blew out part of the brick at the front of the house as part of it. In fairness to them it’s an old house (1936) but they didn’t appear to take any care to do this correctly. Anyway what, if any, are the options to fix this? I’d be happy moving the cable to the side of the house and have someone else install it there if meant the brick at the front could be improved. Thank you for any guidance / help provided!

Hello there i think the best way to tackle this problem is drill around the brick remove it and replace it and put the cable in the bed joint this can all be done at once by the bricky .Hope this helps

Yes as above , remove the blown brick and old mortar . match the brick from a reclamation yard or a good repro from a building merchants then point it back in , use a cement pigment die if required to match the old mortar
