I have a Grundfos Type G pump, can they overheat?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.20 PM
I was checking something next to the hot water tank this morning whilst the central heating was on and touched the pump, it almost melted the skin on my fingers it was so hot, is this normal or should I be calling out British Gas do you think?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Could be sludge in the system/pump which is making the pump work harder causing it to heat excessively. They do get hot as the boiler could be flowing at 80oC+
