Black mould in the garage plywood floor
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.44 PM
Hi Just need advice on something pls. We recently had a lot of condensation which turned i to black mold all over the garage. This occured after plastering the garage wall (with insulation). I bleached the whole garage as the plywood floor was also mouldy. The builder has put the laminate flooring already without treating the mould on the plywood. I questioned it and he said to trust him and that the mould will not come back even without biocide. Just need peace of mind that it wont as I have a toddler who will be playing in the garage and he has asthma Thanks
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi
I ma afraid the builder tell you wrong as we have discover many similar situation like yours before and mould will no disappear. Your laminate floor may start capping and you will smell the mould as well.
This should be damp proofed before plywood was fitted and then you will have no problems and safe area for kids to play.
If you decide to fix it do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help.
