Purchase of a non Frost Free Fridge Freezer in a new build

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.42 PM

We purchased a new build in May 2017, and during the purchasing process we ordered many of the internal items on the builder's website. One of these is a set of two fridge freezers which are placed either side of the oven in the kitchen. The builder's website at the time only gave us two options - a 'standard' and an 'upgrade' option (approx £800 each for the upgrade option), but didn't go into any details about the specifications of the fridge freezers. Having moved into the property we were disgusted to find out that the 'upgrade' (£800) fridge freezers are not frost free. We complained to the builders a few times but got nowhere with this issue. I also believe that there are other people on this site who are also not happy about this. What can we do about this? How can we 'challenge' the builder on this?

Unfortunately not Dahya. Most of developers Terms and conditions are impenetrable. Your best bet is to sell it and buy another one. Ash Chawla Architect Duke of Design
