Fill hole in internal wall where a window blind has fallen down

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.44 PM

There is a very deep hole in the top of the window recess where a fitting for a roller blind has been. The full length of a screw driver up to the handle can be inserted, which makes me think it is between the bricks where mortar should be. What should I fill this hole with before fitting a new blind?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You could ether fill it with filler or cut a small peace of timber to fit the hole so you can screw into it

Use a length of dowel to fit into hole. Drill the hole slightly smaller than the dowel and tap it in just below level and fill over it. You can then screw into it.
