Hot water pump stopped working for a week - reason?

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.21 PM

I have a system boiler (cold tank, hot cylinder, pump...). The pump stopped working for four days, then restarted for 10 days, then stopped again. because it restarted and worked fined for 10 days, I am in the impression that it's not the pump itself, but perhaps some sort of blockage or some of short circuit somewhere. What are the possibilities and what can I do to trouble shoot? Thank you Dear D&R thank you for your reply! I am unsure how old exactly it is, however I estimate it to be around 10 years old. On the booklet there is a sticker with some personal serial number

pumps jam and can unjam as they heat and cool, how old is the pump ?,it might be sludge blocking impeller, take air vent screw out to check if impeller is turning, get heating engineer to look at it.10 years it probably needs replacing .
