Stuck on how to fix plasterboard/chipboard around door

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.41 PM

Hi there, My query is regarding the damage to the plasterboard/chipboard after a front door is replaced. We had some building works done in the house & decided to change the front door at the very end. This was after all the plastering & everything took place. When the previous front door (including its frame) was removed & replaced, it has damaged the plasterboard/chipboard around the edges of the entire door (basically the sides and top of the door has no board for around 2 inches). How would I go about getting this fixed? And what type of trader deals with this sort of work? Is it a plasterer?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If the new door is a pvc then you can buy trim that should be wide enough to cover the gaps. If it needs plaster then yes a plasterer or a good handyman will be able to sort.
