Lounge Radiator TRV Flow Cold

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.44 PM

Hello I have one radiator in the house which will not warm. The left-hand lock shield is open and Luke warm but no where near enough to heat the rad which is brand new. The TRV is open but does not get warm and neither do any of the pipes around it. I have loosened off the wall pipe to TRV and after a minute of running it gets hot. I have also loosened the TRV to Radiator and is does not warm, could this be the TRV that is fault?

Sounds as though the pin on the TRV is stuck. Unscrew the head and there will be a metal pin which you can push in. Place an item with a flat surface on top of it and push down, if it still doesn’t budge use a hammer to tap it. Don’t hit it too hard though. Once you’ve managed to push it in it should start to free up. Push it in a few times to loosen it up a bit then screw the head back on
