Boiler losing pressure in an hr. Now I see a damp patch at the base of a brick wall.

who do I call first? a plumber or a tradesman to search under the floor?

I would call a plumber with slight experience in carpentry / plastering for repairs

I would definitely Call a plumber! sounds like you have a leak on the Central heating Pipework.

This will more then likely be what's called a expansion vessel which has gone flat within the boiler, this will need recharging with air as when you are using your central heating it is over pressurising the system and safely discharging at the base of the wall via a copper pipe which should be angled back to the wall, this will explain the pressure loss within an hour for your boiler
