Low water pressure (6-7 litres per minute) and combin boiler

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.19 PM

Hi, I got 3 quotes for the replacement of my standard boiler for a combi boiler and only one of them told me that given the low water pressure (in the kitchen tab is just between 6 and 7 litres per minutes) it can't be done and it needs to be another standard boiler. The other ones didn't mention anything like that and were happy to quote me for a new Worcester combi boiler. Who is right here? Would I need to stick with a standard one? Thanks very much in advance.

Stick with the standard boiler. 6 to 7 l/m not enough for combi.

Good evening, the system boiler would be better for you but you could either get in contact with your water board and have them rectify the water pressure issue as I am sure they have to give you 11 litres per minute also the other option if you was wanting a combi but you was struggling with pressure would be to install a pump on the cold water supply on the mains coming into the house. Many thanks Alexander T-Ville

min pressure they have to supply at is 0.7 bar, this should fill a 4.5 ltr/1 gallon bucket in 30 seconds, but this could depend on the condition of your internal pipework.you can fit a mains booster on your internal main but not a domestic pump.with pressure you have stated a combi would be a waste of money,so you are really stuck with cold water tank and hot cylinder.
