Nissan 2 button van keys with key number. Easiest way to replace.
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.44 PM
My Nissan NV200 has a worn ignition barrel so the main 2-button key (an ID46 key) will not turn. Only the simple spare key will start it although the remote will lock/unlock the doors. At 144,000 miles it due to be replaced so would like to fix it on a budget. Appreciate any advice on the best way to get a replacement 2- button key. I can pick up a cheap blank but still need it cut and programmed to suit my vehicle. Currently carrying both keys which means if I loose them I'm ERR...stuffed.

Easiest/Cheapest way is to get an empty shell and blade. Get the blade cut off the spare then transfer all the remote internals to the new shell.
You can get them on ebay or Amazon cheap enough.

looks like like a simple fix , the key shaft are quite soft , you can get replacement blanks and the plastic plip holder remote from Amazon , a local shoe shop will cut a new key from the spare , good luck
