Can all router bits be used mounted and not mounted to router table
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.44 PM
Trying to buy a route bit to use to cut undermounted sink, using a template. Noticed that some router bits say for use with table mounted routers. Is it possible to find a bottom bearing flush bit thats 60mm long that doesn’t require mounting? Thanks

If you are using a template to cut out an under mounted sink, I would use a straight 60mm bit and fit a guide base plate that fit to the base of you router, trend do one that most kitchen fitters use, the base surrounds the cutter and follows the template shape cutting 9-10mm inside the template, call a experienced kitchen fitter for advise
Some undermount sinks (man made compound surfaces) need two templates to effect fitting, were by the chipboard base is cut away to the underside of of the surface finish usually leaving the top 7/8mm for the sink to be bonded to.
To effect fitting.
