Leaking shower tray
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.44 PM
How to fix our leaking shower tray, our shower tray appears to be fitted next to the wall with tiles directly into it. It has been resealled twice which works for a time but then leaks again blowing the player below in the kitchen. We have cut a hole in the ceiling to have a look from underneath and the water seems to be pouring cover the side of the shower tray and down the wall into the kitchen. We are having a new kitchen in January and really need to fix the shower before hand as all the player needs replacing from the damage. Thanks

to fix this you will have to take a row of tiles of to see the gap between tray and wall seal it properly, replace tiling so it sits on lip of tray, but your best bet is to strip it all out and do it properly.

my advice would be to remove the tray and start from scratch if the leak is that bad and the walls are water damaged eventually the tiles will come away from the wall. the tray sounds like it has been incorrectly installed if there is any movement in the tray the silicone will keep failing unfortunately you might get somebody to do a quick fix but my advice would be start from scratch
