Filling in left over gap of footings

what can I use to fill the gap between my extension walls and my neighbours fence. Am I correct in saying that I cannot use the remaining hardcore I have. What would be ideal/cheap to pour into these gaps

Stone chips are always a good way of filling these gaps. There are some great colours to choose from too.

Stanard 20mm gravel would look ok and cheap
