Replacing vented soffit boards for non vented

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.19 PM

We have vented soffit boards which in the spring and summer meant we had wasps coming in and out of the loft via the vents. Are vented soffits the norm? Or could we get them replaced with solid boards and have vents fitted in the roof tiles instead? I really dislike wasps and have just found a dead wasps nest in the loft. I'd like to try and keep them out next year! Thanks Carol

Lay close knit gauze over vented area which will still allow cross flow ventilation and to give for your unwanted guests. Many thanks Mike MDee ROOFING.

Depending whether you have strip ventilation or just spaced out holes you can buy the actual pvc vent inserts that come with close knit gauze already to stop nasty critters getting in and look cosmetically good 👍
