Removing shower tray

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.19 PM

My shower tray is cracked and i thought to change it. I started with removing doors and then removing side pannels and finally drain. Once everything was removed i try to remove the shower tray, which I am not able to remove. The tray itself is put into the wall and then the tiles comes down to the tray, overlapping tray. So now tray does not move in any ways. What you suggest to do.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The shower tray if fitted correct will also be stick to wall and floor if it's not on leg You will have to remove the bottom row of tiles and then with an hand saw slide blade between wall and tray to cut away the silicone that will be holding it to the wall. Then it should free it away for you Thanks Chris

Hi, you will have to remove the bottom row of tiles un screw the waste on the tray, use either a Stanley knife or a hand saw to cut the silicone between the walls and tray, the tray will also be bonded down so you will have to try and prise the tray off the floor with a couple of wood chisels, hope this helps
