Repair to ames taping on ceilings
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.43 PM
Hi there. The problem is, original taping appears to be coming loose for the seams of the plasterboard on ceilings. The ceilings look in good condition and no other defects apart from this. Is this just a case of taking the old tape off and an ames taper re-taping and plastering over tape or would I need to get the whole ceiling re-plastered? Any advice or info much appreciated.

Hi, you don't have to get the whole ceiling replastered but you need to check if the screws are also becoming loose as this is one of the most common causes of the problem. All you need to do is just tape over the damaged area and fill in with two coats of multi-purpose filler and sand it once dried. I hope this helps.
