insulating up to the eaves of the roof and rafter vents
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.43 PM
We are having our loft insulated and i was told that if the insulation is pushed up to eaves, we will need rafter vents. However, none of the people who gave us quotes ever mentioned it, so am wondering if this is necessary and what exactly these rafter vents do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi there, depending on how old your house is some may be more air tight than others. When you insert extra insulation into your attic, heat rises and it can cause the house to "sweat" so you sometimes do need vents added to release some air. It's completely on a job to job basis though.
