URGENT: Aluminium front door with sidelight panel LETTERBOX

i have a aluminium front door with sidelight panel which has the letterbox on it, i bought a new letterbox but to my mistake its slightly bigger than my current one, can i drill new screw holes through the ally?

Yes you can, just pre drill using a smaller drill bit be careful not to over tighten as its very easy to thread the aluminium.
