how to have room by room heating control with radiators?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.41 PM

As part of a renovation there is due to be wet underfloor heating on the ground floor with heatmiser thermostats and separate zones in each room separately controllable. There would be radiators in the upper two floor and the thermostats in each room should again be separately controllable - What does this mean in terms of the plumbing required for the radiators? Does this mean the plumbing for each radiator needs to be on a separate circuit or are there better solutions?

Manifold is available for the rads too with individual actuator heads. If individual rooms must be controlled separately. It will be the most expensive but best solution. Try do not use 10mm diameter pipes go for 15mm - will not be blocked by sludge. Or programmable radiator thermostatic valves on each rads (Drayton Wiser) - I don't know much about them. Individual flow with zoning valved or (another name) two port valves and return keep separately up to the boiler. If it is enough to separate 1st & 2nd floor. Room stats could be in stair case landings. Top floor thermostat could give false readings affected by heat comming from below. Multi channel programmer needed for it.
