New Build/Taylor Wimpey Flooring
Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.43 PM
Hello, I am in the process of buying a new build in the South West and I was wondering if anyone had any information on how the upstairs flooring will be when I move in? Will it be floor boards or chip boards? and do you know how easy it will be to lift it off to access the underneath? Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Oliver,
Most house builders tend to use tongue & groove chipboard flooring (usually 600x2400mm sheets) in either 18 or 22mm thickness. The boards are normally nailed to the floor joists and not easily removed.
Is there a particular reason why you would want to access the under side/floor void?
Regards
Alex
