Tarmacadam is the cheaper option, the difference is the 'finish' which differs on each individual clients' taste/preference.

Tarmacadam is not necessarily the cheaper option if done correct you should have exactly the same dig as block paving same prep 60 mm of 20 mm base coat tarmac and 25mm 6 mm top coat Tarmac is so expensive now up to £90 per tonnes depending on amount very little difference in price if done correct with block paving obviously looking the better of the two cosmetically hope this helps your decision

Tarmac would still work out the cheaper option these days.

It’s depending on the surface but in general the blocking is more expensive but it also takes more looking after
