Grout in bathroom is running when wet and coming off on fingers when dry
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.19 PM
I had a new en suite and my main bathroom tiled with ceramic gloss white tiles. The builders used grey/black grout (I don't know the type). now weeks later, if you get any water on it the black runs down the tiles. And if you run your finger or a cloth over it when it's dry you get black residue. Does it need sealing? or does the whole job need doing again? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I would stop using the shower asap the last thing you what is water to get behind the tiles if the grout is failing.
Post the job on my builder get a professional tiler with 100% feedback to take a look at it, I'm guessing he's not used grout or if he as there is a major problem with the grout. Once you get the second opinion from a professional try get the builder back maybe.
Thanks Justiling

Chances are that it was a bad batch of grout, normally the dye used in coloured grouts will not run when set, ask for a professional to come over and test the grout asap.
