pump.shower fitted by plumber - doesnt run cold. doesn't start unless handset held to floor

I purchased a concealed shower with top head, and handset, and a stuart turner showermate eco s2.0 bar twin as part of a complete bathroom refit. Refit quoted for and done by plumber/fitter on here. The job is not quite finished yet (other bits to do) but the shower is all fitted behind tiles in wall, and pump in airing cupboard next to hot water tank. On trying the shower for the first time: 1. it doesn't turn on at all (top outlet or handset) - only dribbles of water coming out - obviously not enough to start pump. I need to take handset off the wall, and put it down near the shower tray THEN the pump will go on (with top outlet if already pressed). Obviously this is not correct. However the other issue is that on full 'cold' the water is still warm - about my usual shower temp warm. that's as cold as it goes. The two seem probably connected to me ? i.e. not enough cold water reaching shower, not enough head pressure to start pump when valves opened ? On checking I find that he has fitted all 15mm copper pipe between the pump and the shower. Even though the stuart turner manual states: "For optimum performance pipework MUST be 22 mm. Pipework should only reduce to 15 mm when entering terminal fitting" - a manual that was very much in the box with the pump for him to fit. Also, the manual states that the flexi-pipes should not be bent over 30 degrees, and the outlet ones are bent about 50 degrees - I was told when I pointed this out that it has to be like that because of where pipes are, and that he couldn't add other angled joints in pipes" - but the manual again says that it is better to add angles jointed in copper pipes than bend flexi-hoses... So could this be the cause ? That at least could be fixed - replacing the 15mm pipes now embedded in the walls clearly cannot be. I am now left with a shower which doesn't start without lowering handset to near the shower tray, AND a shower which needs to be on full cold to be approx the right temperature - provided I never want a cool shower. what do people think ? what would you suggest I ask to be done please ?
