WHERE EXACTLY IS THE REAR 'WALL' OF THE HOUSE

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.43 PM

HELLO, I AM BUILDING (PLANNING) ON BUILDING AN EXTENSION. MY HOUSE DID HAVE CONCRETE GUTTERS WHICH MADE THE SIZE OF THE HOUSE 30CM LARGER AT THE REAR. THEY HAVE SINCE BEEN REPLACED TO PLASTIC. WHEN I DO MY EXTENSION CAN I TAKE THAT EXTRA 30CM IN TO CONSIDERATION AND MAKE IT 30CM LONGER? THERE IS NO GUIDANCE AS TO IF THIS IS ALLOWED.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

hi sorry tom, the back of your house is the back of the building/walls, planning will use the back wall even if you had an add on building/outhouse. the back of your house would start from the back brick work.
