Roof Strengthening.

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.19 PM

The house I intend to move into has had the following concern flagged up following a structural report. "Traditional timber construction roof compromising purlins supporting pitched rafters." "Roof covering has been replaced in concrete tile which may be heavier than original covering. Some cross bracing has been fitted, but slight deflection in both rear and front slopes of the roof" Strengthening to current regulations recommended. My questions are a) the urgency of the job b) estimated timescale?? Cheers

The job should take around 4 days and what u need is to add some additional supports to the existing . Struts should be added .. to take the slight bow out the roof u would need to take all the tiles of and then add the struts .it is quite a urgent job as to much strain on timber could cause them to bow more This will take any bow out of the roof
