Can I supply water to my ensuite from the sink next door?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.40 PM
Hi, I'm building an ensuite in my bedroom in an old fitted wardrobe recess. The room backs directly on to the main bathroom, so I have found the waste pipe access no problem. Now I just need to get water in to the room. Next door under the sink I see a pipe for cold and a pipe for hot water to the sink, with valves on each. Is it possible to split off from these feeds and bring back through the wall to feed the new ensuite I'm developing? What would I need exactly? Thanks and sorry if this is a daft question, just want to make sure... Chris

Hi your correct in what you are saying, there is no reason you cant use the hot and cold from your existing bathroom. Can i ask if your system is a combi one? just a heads up that if your going to put an electric shower in the en suite you will need a cold mains feed and not a gravity one. Regarding what you will need probably just a few fittings and the pipe to tee of existing feeds.

Yes, you will have all the necessary water feeds in the existing bathroom to connect your ensuite to. You will probably need to run a waste out through the wall in the ensuite room and link up to the existing waste outside the house. Are you planning to install a Toilet as well? The other thing you need to be aware of is once you introduce water to the ensuite / bedroom then that now becomes an area containing water and certain electrical regulations will now apply. If you can provide a more detailed plan of what you intend to do and any pictures of existing then I can give you more accurate advice. chriskeareney2379@gmail.com
