Bathroom Fitting

Branded or non branded bathroom furniture?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.18 PM

I am doing a full bathroom refurb. The plumbers merchant gave me an Eastbrook catalogue with non branded bathroom furniture and a Claygate catalogue with the known bathroom brands. Not surprisingly there is a large price difference between the two. The thing is, the products in the Eastbrook catalogue look identical to the branded stuff in the Claygate catalogue. Is going for the Eastbrook products a smart thing to do or am I better off buying the branded stuff? Thank you in advance.

Hi, From my experience most the branded products are the same as non branded. I would stick with well known brands for shower mixer and maybe basin taps, rest is mostly the same stuff just re branded by importers. Hope this helps. Regards Milos TRIED&TRUE DEVELOPMENTS

Eastbrook is overpriced and uses a lot of Hudson Reeds products which can be purchased much cheaper from Claygate. I personally think Claygate brands are slightly better than non branded as there are much more defects with non branded but with that in mind there are not many suites now days that i fit that doesn't have something that needs returning and changing. This seems to be the way now for the last few years and is getting worse as would my suppliers agree.
