Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 2.47 PM
I have a condition that I need to have an old house down before March 1st.... before I can build - I'm stuck waiting for the power to be disconnected - this may take me into March.... I think I'd need sign off that nothing is living in the attic if I demolish after March 1 - but are councils that picky???? Peter - many thanks for your kind response. Pity I'm building in Cambridgeshire you sounds like the man for the job!. Cheers Lisa

Hello
Birds nests , newts , voles, bats , trees --- You can be cautioned/ arrested by the environmental protection officer for destroying their bit of your development at the wrong time of year !
Had to let an old workshop stand for 6 weeks in the middle of a flats development once, due to protected birds nests.
Normaly triggered by a complaint from a neighbour.
In your situation , you could look at having the electric meter fuses pulled ,[ made safe ] isolate and protect the feed in / meter , then start the soft strip out prior to demo , then get an L.A. inspection prior to full demo. of the shell keep a record.
Cheers
Peter
