Electrical

10KW Mira On/Off switch fitting for loft bathroom (UB4 area)

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 2.58 PM

Does building regulation permit for an Electric shower Switch inside loft bathroom/toilet, to switch On/off electric shower. If not then where it is permitted to fit the electric shower switch, out side bathroom in loft passage?? This is a must as shower has to be reset when water flow is restricted to the electrical shower unit. Currently it is fed from the main fuse box to a switch in the front loft bedroom out of easy reach (End of slope roof above loft stairs). Obviously at a very inconvenient place fitted. It has to be moved or another switch can be fitted. Please advise.

The switch should be located external to allow for isolation should there be an emergency and without entering the area to place yourself at risk. This the main reason why most are formed into new door header panels.

Hi, You can actually install the shower switch in the ceiling of the bathroom and it works with a pull cord, so every time you want to use shower you can switch it by pulling the cord with out leaving the bathroom. 50 amps will be ideal. https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/CM1766.html?source=adwords&ad_position=1o4&ad_id=45425533757&placement=&kw=&network=g&matchtype=&ad_type=pla&product_id=CM1766&product_partition_id=174053237827&version=finalurl_v3&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIw4bRv7fb3QIVzLXtCh3__AG_EAQYBCABEgLd9vD_BwE Hope this helps
