Is it safe to move a gas cooker, or have it moved I should say..in front of a radiator?
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.40 PM
My cooker is in a corner, it's difficult to get to and very dark! I would like to move it/I mean have it moved to the longer wall along side, but there is a radiator along the wall. Would it be safe to have the gas cooker in front of the radiator? It isn't on very often except when it's very very cold and I don't know if this is even possible, but could the heat from the radiator damage the gas pipes? I think it's possibly unlikely, but I'm not a gas engineer and would like to know for certain before I ask an engineer to come and extend the pipework. thanks

Bad practise to install a gas appliance in front of another heat source. Suggest you invite a Gas Safe engineer to attend and offer alternative advice.

Can the radiator be removed or even reduced to provide wall space for new cooker position?
